Fall 2024 Baseball Gear Guide
-
Player Uniform
You will need to purchase white baseball pants, navy socks, red socks, a navy belt, and a red belt for your player. Each player needs their own batting helmet when batting and batting gloves are encouraged, but optional. For fields that are turf, no spikes are allowed (only molded plastic or turf shoes are permitted). Pitching mounds can be dirt or turf so be prepared to bring turf shoes in case the mound is turf but the rest of the field is grass. It is recommended for all players to be ready for anything and have a pair of cleats and a pair of turf shoes in their bags just in case they need them at any time. For all field practices, please wear baseball pants so the player can slide safely and effectively.

Player Gear
Each player needs a fitted glove and baseball bat that meets legal bat standards.
Bat Guidelines by Age (by Coach Mikey):
8U-11U: Player needs to be swinging -10 or -12 if the player is undersized.
12U: Player cannot use a -5. They need to be swinging a -8. If the player is undersized and under developed to swing a -10 but get a cheap -8 to train with to eventually swing in game.
13U: We are open to players swinging a -5, but generally they will use a -8 bat. I also recommend though if they are at that -8 that they get a very cheap -5 to train with to eventually develop their swing to a -5.
14U: They should swing- 3 or -5 if they are really undeveloped but we do not recommend that due to them being in High School within less than a year.
Recommended Bat Brands: Rawlings Icon. Louisville Slugger Atlas, Soldier bat, CatX

Player Accessories
Players can wear accessories when on the field. Sunglasses (especially for outfielders) are allowed as long as the player is not pitching. Many umpires will require pitchers to remove any arm sleeves and sometimes necklaces. Players may bring sunflower seeds if the park allows seeds on the field or in the dugout. Catchers are encouraged to wear a baseball cup at all times while catching for safety reasons.
